Me and My Big Mouth

My mouth has gotten me into a lot of trouble. I have heard from many people that I talk too much. If I am honest, I must agree. I do talk too much.

But here is the thing, people are rarely balanced. People usually lean one way or another.

For example, some people lean toward the law. They tend to be very strict and preach holiness and repentance.  Other people lean towards grace. They tend to focus on God’s love, mercy, and compassion. Some prioritize spending time with their family and try not to work more than they have to. Other people prioritize spending money and they work as much as they can, presumably so their families would be better off financially.

I could go on and on. It is hard to always have it right without a leaning of any kind.

But for me, in terms of talking too much, I’m fine with it.  I’m willing to deal with the consequences of talking too much rather than the consequences of not talking enough. You can always apologize for something you said — but there are times when, if you don’t say it, no one else will. And sometimes, you don’t get a second chance.

There are people who will die of a heart attack, unless somebody gets in their face and warns them of their unhealthy habits. There is a man who is going to lose his marriage unless his friend pulls him to the side, looks him in the eye and gets real with him. There are people who have drifted from God and need someone to preach a message of repentance to them, or else they will go to hell.

The world is full of people who have “nice” friends – people who tell you what you want to hear. What the world needs more of are honest friends who will tell you what you need to hear. Even more  – people who will say what God is saying.

A Blog Is Not Just A Blog

If your blog is hosted on your website, and if readers must come to your website to read your blog, then your blog is not just a blog – it an entire website. When people find you on your podcast or YouTube channel, it is like finding you at a coffee shop. But when they come to your website, it is inviting them to your home, where you have a greater connection.

When you have your own website, you unlock a whole new level of freedom and functionality that just isn’t possible with a podcast host or YouTube channel.

A website lets you create a full experience for your audience. You can build a custom menu to organize your content exactly how you want it — blog posts, videos, podcast episodes, resources, and more.

You can add a newsletter sign-up form and start growing your email list — something you own, unlike social media followers. That gives you direct access to your audience without relying on algorithms.

You can also include a contact page so people can reach out to you directly. Whether it’s fans, potential clients, or collaboration opportunities, you stay accessible.

An “About Me” page gives visitors a chance to connect with your story — something that’s often missing or hard to find on podcast apps or YouTube.

You can have a search bar that will search your entire website. Ya but you can search podcasts and YouTube videos. Well..sort of. You can search the titles and the description. A blog can be searched for every single word that is written. Searchability (is that a word) is much more powerful.

And if you ever want to sell something — a book, a course, merch, coaching — you can build a store right into your site.

In short, your website becomes your digital home — a hub where you set the terms, not someone else.

The Blog is Back!

Coming Full Circle…

Over the past nearly 20 years, I have created almost every (nearly) kind of content you can think of.  Blog, Podcast, YouTube, Facebook Live, Books, Articles for Magazines and more.

I don’t regret trying and experimenting. I think they all had a place in my life at some time. After all is said and done, I find myself coming full circle back to where I started – blogging. There are many reasons why, and over the next few weeks I will explain in further depth.

Note that this is not a blog about blogging, but in the beginning it might seem to be. My desire to return to blogging is a quite strange turn of events, but after prayer and fasting,  I realize this is where I need to be. Writing inspiring, challenging, interesting, heartfelt, and life-changing words to you, my dear readers.

Note that I will continue to create other forms of content, particularly YouTube videos. But the shift has happened. I am returning to my one true content home – JamesRobor.com.

Oh, and one last thing: my goal is to blog 5 days a week, Monday thru Friday. Who knows, I might throw in a bonus blog post from time to time.

See you tomorrow friends, with another (short) blog post from God’s heart to my heart to your heart.

Hi, I’m James Robor!

I currently reside in Avon, Indiana with my wife Heidi, my three teenage children, and my widowed mother.

In July 2025, I went on a fast and I heard the Lord tell me to resume my blog. For years I blogged but then I let it go and focused on other things. Now I have a renewed passion to share what God is saying to me through my blog.
