For this upcoming year of 2020, I felt God speaking to me FOCUS! After some research I learned that 2020 vision is NOT the best vision you can possibly have as 20/15 or even 20/10 vision is even better. However 20/20 vision is considered normal vision, it is the vision required to be a fighter pilot for example. When you have 20/20 vision, it means you can see clear enough to be able to perform most activities. It means you do not need glasses or contacts. You are able to see whatever you need to see to do whatever you need to do.

FOCUS is very important but focus has two primary elements. The mental and the physical.

The physical means you have the physical ability to focus, there is nothing preventing you from focusing. In life this translates to the EXTERIOR. Removing anything on the outside that will prevent you from focusing. Removing distractions, noises, even people who may be dragging you down or holding you back. Getting your life situation is such a way that you are able to FOCUS on what God has called you to do.

The mental element of focus is INTERNAL. This requires fixing your eyes on Jesus. This requires meditating on the word of God, prayer, and even fasting. FOCUSING on God requires DISCIPLINE. FOCUS also means deciding what you are NOT going to do, no matter how good a thing it is. God knows I am guilty of doing a lot of good things that were in fact simply distractions from me doing the GOD THING in my life.

I believe that people like myself who are into a lot of different things, even we must FOCUS. We might be good at a lot of different things, but itโ€™s almost impossible to do those things all at the same time. There are seasons for everything. The question to ask God is, โ€œWhat season am I in now? God, what do you want me to FOCUS on in the beginning of 2020?โ€

Sometimes it can be as simple as making a list of all the things you believe God wants you to do in 2020 and then prioritizing. Focus on a) what is most important and b) what is most urgent. Also remember that before you can move onto the next thing, you must (usually) finish what God has already assigned to you. Sometimes we donโ€™t hear from God because He has nothing new to say. He is still waiting for the last assignment to be completed.

God bless you, your family, and your ministry in 2020!
