Over these past two weeks, I’ve been reminded that God shows up in every situation, not just the obviously spiritual ones. Here’s a snapshot of my life and where I’ve seen His hand at work in the past two weeks.

Aug 5-15

My coworker who opens our building at work took off for 2 weeks, so I was needed to open the building. This means I had to get up at 3:15 AM so I can be at work at 4:30 AM.

Sun Aug 10

Our family went to the Indiana State Fair. It was a hot day, but we made it to the Chris Tomlin concert. I got to bed about 11 PM, had to get up at 3:15 AM.

Aug 4 to present

I have spent a lot of my free time putting together a new workflow. I feel like before I can go to the next level, I need a more efficient personal management system. I think I finally got it figured out, now just putting it all together. When it’s done, it will be a powerful machine with many automations. If it all goes well, it will be a real game changer for me.

My wife calls me and tells me she is sick. She was going to go with me to the meetings at the Hendricks County Fair with Evangelist/Revivalist Stan Lovins. I had to go without her. The meeting was great. I was genuinely encouraged and touched by the Holy Spirit.

We were going to go together also to the evangelism training Saturday, but we didn’t go.

Later that day I drove down to Lake Lemon IN and met with my sister. Me, my mom, my sister, and her husband swam in the lake together. We had a good time.

Aug 18 (today)

Today is my sister’s birthday. Happy birthday Tabby!

Aug 19

Tomorrow my son Noah goes for an eardrum replacement. He has had a hole in his eardrum almost his whole life. I asked my coworker if he would change shifts with me so I could be with my son at the hospital. He agreed. Heidi was going to take him, but she is still feeling weak.

There you have it – a snapshot of my life over the past two weeks.

Looking back, God was present in every moment. In the discipline of 3:15 AM mornings, in family time at the fair, in the breakthrough with my workflow, in being touched by His Spirit at the revival meeting, in simple moments swimming with family, and even in my coworker’s kindness when I needed to be with Noah.

God doesn’t just show up in the big spiritual moments, He’s woven into every ordinary day, every challenge, every blessing. The question isn’t where God is, but whether we’re paying attention.
